What’s the rumour?

Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale’s time at the Bernabeu might be coming to an end as the Galacticos are willing to sell him in the summer. The former Tottenham star was bought for €100 million and the Merengues rate him at €120-150 million.

In case you didn’t know…

The Welshman was supposed to be the eventual replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo and while the Portuguese is no longer at Madrid, the Cardiff Express hasn’t been able to stamp his authority on the team.

He is having another erratic season with the Blancos and it seems as though patience has finally run out.

The heart of the matter

According to reports, the Real Madrid camp aren’t happy with how he has performed after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. The report labels him as lazy and reluctant while also adding that his constant niggles have been a problem for the Merengues.

While he wants to stay at Madrid, the Bernabeu outfit do not share the same feeling and are looking to offload the player with both Manchester United and Chelsea being linked to the former Tottenham man.

Rumour rating: 6/10

While the Real Madrid board might have run out of patience with the former Southampton starlet, it is simply impossible for them to expect that he would fetch anywhere close to the amount mentioned above. This might well be his last season at the Bernabeu but it is unlikely that any club would spend so much money on him.

What’s next?

Gareth Bale seems to have lost his place to Vinicius Jr. and Lucas Vazquez in the starting XI. While Solari is trying to bring the best out of him, he realizes that right-wing is not the place where it could happen. As a result, Bale might have to spend the rest of the season on the bench.
