Reports: Liverpool linked with a blockbuster move for Chelsea midfielder Oscar

Liverpool will look to strengthen their squad if they finish in the Premier League top 4

Following on from reports earlier this week that Juventus had scouted Oscar playing for Brazil against France, and preparing a mammoth offer for the playmaker this summer, it now seems that he has an admirer in Brendan Rogers and Liverpool.

According to Daily Star, Liverpool have also identified Oscar as a summer transfer target in a blockbuster move for someone who could be surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge this summer.

It sounds ridiculous to say it but looking at how many times he is substituted or left out of the starting eleven compared to the others, it could be a very realistic possibility.

Of course, this will all depend on whether or not Liverpool can pip Manchester United to fourth place in the Premier League and get back into the Champions League after a woeful showing this season.

Juventus for example are going to qualify and will be able to offer mega money that has already been quoted (30m Euros) for Oscar. Could Liverpool match that without Champions League football after their outlay this season? I'm not so sure.

There is plenty to consider and I believe that Jose Mourinho would not want to arrange a deal with someone the club sees as a rival for the top four so that would scupper any move to Merseyside. However, we can never say never when ridiculous monies are offered as we have seen with the likes of DeBruyne and Lukaku!

I am sure Chelsea would favour a move to Italy if they decided to sell.

We shall see what happens but there seems to be real substance about the bid from Juventus. What do you think about Oscar leaving Chelsea (if that happens of course) and of a possible move to Juve or Liverpool?
