Robert Lewandowski still wants to play in the Premier League; Bayern not a done deal

Ahead of their match against England, Poland’s prolific striker, Robert Lewandowski has spoken of his desire to play in the Premier League and goes on to say that the Bayern Munich deal isn’t done as yet.

Robert Lewandowski has created a name for himself in Europe, and a number of big clubs are looking forward to having him join their flanks.

However, in an interview with the Telegraph, Lewandowski has stated that his future remains unresolved and that he retains an ambition to play in England at some stage of his career.

“I will be able to sign a contract [with any club] in January, but I have never said that I will sign a contract with Bayern,” Lewandowski said. “It was a misunderstanding. It is true I had an opportunity to speak with Sir Alex Ferguson [last year], but we didn’t mention the transfer.

“One day I would like to play in Premier League. It would be a great experience.”

Lewandowski does admit that three years ago, he refused a move to the Premier League when Sam Allardyce tried to secure a move for the player to Blackburn Rovers for a £3 million transfer.

“There was a proposal from Blackburn,” Lewandowski said. “I even spoke with the former manager [Sam Allardyce]. In the end, I decided that Dortmund gave me a better chance of development as a footballer.”
