Roberto Mancini Hopes To Buy Nasri, Aguero By End Of Month

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has claimed that he hopes to wrap up the signings of Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri and Atletico striker Sergio Aguero by the end of this month. He sounded more confident about the Aguero deal progressing than the Nasri one, citing many technicalities and variables for the latter.

Mancini eyeing double swoop by end of July

With Carlos Tevez having admitted that he would like to move to newer pastures, Mancini has identified Aguero as a suitable replacement (both build and goal wise), also thinking that he would play better with the strikers that City currently have. On being asked about the possibility of an Aguero deal happening, he told Sky Sports News-

“At the moment I am waiting because if we lose Carlos, Aguero is a player that can play for Manchester City because he is young, because he is a good player like Carlos, he can score a lot of goals and can play with Mario [Balotelli], with Edin [Dzeko],”

“It is probably yes. I think in this moment we only have to wait.”

When asked about Nasri however, Mancini was far less forthright and embraced a hint of caution instead. He said that there were innumerable factors involved, but he hoped to finish any transfers by the end of this month so as to have a settled squad before the season started.

He said-

“Samir is under contract with Arsenal. Also for Samir it depends on many things,”

“I hope that we can buy because we need other players and I hope that this player can arrive before the end of the month.”

Aguero is also being monitored by the behemoths of Real Madrid, whereas Arsenal have already fended off interest for Nasri from both United and City. It remains to be seen if either of these deals transpire or bite the dust. Stay tuned for more in this regard.
