Mauro Icardi’s wife Wanda Nara had recently said that Mauro Icardi has been contacted by many clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, AS Roma, Napoli and Atletico Madrid. On the other hand, the ex-Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini was trying very had to deflect the attention from Icardi’s rumoured transfer away from the San Siro outfit.

When first asked about the rumoured transfer, Mancini replied saying “I have not seen the news you mentioned, I have not read anything; I do not know why you say anything. I’m just a coach and this is not an issue about me. He is doing the training and showing endeavour, for me this is important.”

The media in attendance was not satisfied with the reply and decided to ask the question again. To this Roberto Mancini replied saying “I do not read newspapers, do not listen to the radio; I’m just watching some porn movies!”. With a sarcastic laugh, he then said that he was kidding of course. But was he?

Icardi’s wife Wanda Nara who had become his agent last year also claimed that the clubs have bid €50 million for the Argentine striker. She has created waves with a series of interviews on her husband’s future.

Roberto Mancini has been at Inter since 2014 and has seen the club progress under his tenure. He returned to Inter after four successful years in Manchester, guiding Manchester City to a Premier League trophy in dramatic fashion. He also had a brief spell at Turkish club Galatasaray.

The Italian manager has previously been in the news for his words, most notably when he said “I’m not Arsene Wenger. We’re different; I want to win!”.

He also took a dig at Barcelona in 2012 when he said: “Barcelona players are passing the ball at least 25 times to reach the goal, while Real Madrid’s Xabi Alonso is doing it all in a single pass”.

Inter Milan will take on French champions Paris Saint-Germain on the 24th of July in the International Champions Cup fixture as a part of their pre-season preparations. They will then take on Bayern Munich on the 30th of July, their second fixture in the USA this year.
