In yet another candid reference to his dedication to partying, Brazilian legend Ronaldo has recently admitted that he has “spent more nights with Roberto Carlos” than he has done with all the women he has been married with.
The former Real Madrid forward, who has scored more than 400 goals during his career, is the youngest ever FIFA World Player of the Year, winning 19 major honours as well as two World Cups, played 19 professional seasons and is affectionately called “Il Fenemeno” by his fans, recently opened up to Onda Cera regarding his time at the Bernabeu. He was accompanied by his former teammate, the celebrated left-back Roberto Carlos.
“I trained really badly during the first 10 years of my sporting career. I was expected to run the same as Roberto Carlos or Cafú but I just couldn't do it. I suffered a lot of injuries because of training”, he said. "I arrived late for training twice in the same week. The first time, [Arrigo] Sacchi came over and spent 15 minutes shouting at me, and then he fined me. When it happened again, a few days later, before he got a chance to speak I said: 'the talking to, or the fine...'”.
“Florentino told me that I should stay at home more and not go out so much. I said I should look at Figo as an example to follow and I said, with all due respect, that if I had a wife like Figo, I would also stay at home more. I have spent more nights with Roberto Carlos than all of the women I have been married to put together”.
Ronaldo’s first marriage to female Brazilian footballer Milene Domingues lasted four years. In 2005, he later got married for only 3 months to MTV VJ Daniela Cicarelli. The former Galactico has been with Maria Beatrice since 2008.
