Chelsea will reportedly have to splash out a massive £115 million for Arsenal target Alexander Isak. The two London rivals are interested in signing the striker next summer.
The Blues have been linked with a number of strikers since last season. As per TEAMtalk, they have now identified Isak as a potential target. However, Newcastle United are unwilling to let him leave and would ask for a huge fee of £115 million next summer. Even that fee wouldn't guarantee a move but could initiate a bidding war with the Gunners also interested.
Chelsea currently have Nicolas Jackson as their main striker. He's done well this season, contributing seven goals and three assists in 12 Premier League games this season. Isak, meanwhile, has scored four goals and provided two assists in nine league games this season.
The Blues have already made inquiries about the Swedish striker. Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Isak for a long time amidst their striker issues. Kai Havertz has scored just four league goals this season while Gabriel Jesus has scored none.
Newcastle, meanwhile, have identified Viktor Gyokeres as a potential replacement if Isak were to leave next summer. The Sporting CP striker has also been linked with the Gunners and Chelsea.
Pundit urges Arsenal to sign Chelsea-linked Alexander Isak
Pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has urged the north London side to replace Kai Havertz with Alexander Isak. He said that they are too reliant on wingers Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli and need a proper No. 9 upfront.
"They're too reliant on [Bukayo] Saka. [Gabriel] Martinelli will turn up one game out of five. Arsenal are dying for an Isak. He can hold the ball up, he's strong, he's aggressive, he's quick in behind and he can score every type of goal."
"Havertz is getting bullied, you don't know where he's playing. The Chelsea game he was so poor. Arsenal, if they don't make a top striker sign in January, I don't think they're going to be up there."
The Gunners have scored 21 goals in the Premier League this season, the joint-sixth highest in the list with Brighton & Hove Albion. Chelsea, meanwhile, are third on the list with 23 goals, only behind Tottenham Hotspur (27) and Liverpool (24).
Isak, meanwhile, joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022 for a reported fee of €70 million. He's since scored 40 goals and provided seven assists in 78 games for the Magpies across competitions.
