Jose Mourinho wants Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr teammate Aymeric Laporte at Fenerbahce, according to Fichajes.net. The Spain international is highly experienced, having won multiple trophies during his time with Manchester City.
Laporte left the Cityzens in the summer of 2023 to move to the Riyadh-based club for a reported £23.6m fee. The 30-year-old has been impressive for the Saudi side so far and has appeared 17 times across competitions this season, scoring three goals.
With 25 points, Al-Nassr are fourth in the Saudi Pro League standings after 13 games this campaign, 11 points behind leaders Al-Ittihad. Despite the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo, they have struggled to win the league in the last two seasons.
The Middle Eastern club could lose Laporte next year, with Mourinho eager to add the player to his kitty. The Portuguese manager is looking to sign a new defender who can organize the team from the back.
The Spain international, who won Euro 2024 with La Roja in the summer, has been identified as the ideal candidate for the job. Laporte's contract with the club expires at the end of the next season and he hasn't been handed a new deal yet.
However, the player is on an exorbitant pay package with Al-Nassr, which could pose a problem for Fenerbahce. Nevertheless, club sporting director Mario Branco remains eager to find a solution.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo's contract with the Riyadh-based club expires at the end of this season and he hasn't extended his stay yet.
When will Cristiano Ronaldo return to action for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League?

Cristiano Ronaldo is enjoying a winter break. The Portuguese will be back in action next when the club face Al Akhdoud in the Saudi Pro League on January 9, 2025.
CR7 entered the break with a demoralizing 2-1 defeat at the hands of Al-Ittihad on December 6, which was a huge blow to Al-Nassr's pursuit of the league title. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner found the back of the net in the game, but it proved a mere consolation.
Ronaldo has shown no signs of slowing down. The 39-year-old has scored 16 times in 19 games across competitions while setting up three more this season.
The iconic player was linked with a move to Fenerbahce last month. However, acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano has since rubbished those rumors. Romano has instead suggested that CR7 could stay at Al-Nassr beyond 2025.
