Barcelona president Joan Laporta has requested Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to leave in order to make space for new arrival Joan Garcia, according to El Nacional. The Catalans have reportedly identified the Espanyol custodian as the ideal successor for the German at Camp Nou.

Garcia is coming off another impressive campaign with Espanyol and has admirers across the continent. However, according to acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano, the LaLiga champions have already reached an agreement to secure Garcia's signature.

Barcelona will reportedly trigger the 23-year-old's release clause in the coming days, and have supposedly promised him a guaranteed place in Hansi Flick's starting XI. However, Ter Stegen is posing a problem to their plans.

AC Milan, Marseille, Monaco, and Juventus are among the clubs eyeing the 33-year-old, while there's also interest from the Middle East. The Catalans are eager to let Ter Stegen go, as they cannot afford to have a player of his wages on the bench.

The German goalkeeper, however, is unwilling to give up his place without a fight. Ter Stegen wants to convince Flick in pre-season, as he gears up to represent Germany at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The LaLiga champions, though, have lost their confidence in the veteran goalkeeper, who has struggled with form and fitness in recent times. Barcelona, as such, are begging Ter Stegen to leave for the sake of the club. However, the German, who is under contract until 2028, is reportedly demanding a sizeable compensation to leave.

Ivan Perisic is considering signing a new deal at PSV Eindhoven, according to Mundo Deportivo. The 36-year-old forward has emerged as a target for Barcelona in recent weeks.

The LaLiga champions are planning to improve their attack before the start of the new season. The Catalans have identified Liverpool's Luis Diaz as an option for the left-forward role, while Perisic has been zeroed in for the right wing.

Barcelona want the Croatian as cover for Lamine Yamal in the squad. Perisic is out of contract at the end of this month, so a move suits the Catalans' finances.

However, PSV have now offered him an extension and the player is considering a stay at the Philips Stadium. Interestingly, the Croatian previously enjoyed a good spell under Hansi Flick at Bayern Munich. The LaLiga champions are hoping that the German manager can convince him to move to Camp Nou.
