Liverpool have been dealt a massive blow as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are closing in on the signature of Willian Pacho. The Reds have been linked with the Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back this summer but look set to lose out in the transfer race.

Arne Slot and company are yet to make a signing this summer, with many fans starting to grow impatient. As per The Independent (via Rousing the Kop), they were interested in signing Pacho, who was available for a reported fee of £50 million.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided an update on Pacho, with PSG now the favorite to sign the 22-year-old. He tweeted on X:

"Paris Saint-Germain are closing in on deal to sign William Pacho from Eintracht Frankfurt! Verbal agreement in place on €40m fee plus add-ons, agreement also with the player on personal terms. Final details needed on payment terms and then… here we go."

Following Joel Matip's departure earlier this summer, Liverpool are yet to find a replacement of the Cameroon international. Pacho, who has been described as world-class in the Bundesliga, could have been an ideal candidate. The youngster impressed many last season, making 44 appearances across all competitions for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Liverpool's asking price for Fabio Carvalho revealed after rejecting Southamton's £15m bid: Reports

Liverpool reportedly want around £25.7 million to sell Fabio Carvalho this summer, according to CaughtOffside (via Rousing the Kop). The Reds rejected a £15 million bid from Southampton on August 4, and are not interested in sending Carvalho out on loan.

Carvalho joined the Reds in the summer of 2022, however, things never worked out for him under Jurgen Klopp. The 21-year-old was sent on loan to RB Leipzig and Hull City over the next two years, where he impressed for the latter, netting nine goals in 20 appearances last season.

Fortunately, the youngster has impressed Arne Slot during the Reds' pre-season tour in the United States, scoring two goals in three appearances against Manchester United and Arsenal. While Slot reportedly no longer wants to sell Carvalho, Liverpool will only consider a permanent transfer if the bid meets their expected value.
