Bacary Sagna: Another Gunner heading to the Etihad?

Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna looks set to join Premier League rivals Manchester City on a free transfer with the Daily Mail reporting that Saturday’s FA Cup final against Hull will be the defender’s last game.

Sagna, 31, has been locked in contract negotiations with the Gunners with some time now but it seems likely as if the impasse cannot be resolved. Arsenal have a club policy of only offering over 30s one year deals at a time but the report suggests that City will offer Sagna a four-year deal worth £100,000-per-week.

The full-back is believed to want his future resolved before he flies out to join up with the French national team for preparations for the World Cup. If the deal is completed he would become the latest Gunner to join City, following in the footsteps of Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri.

Arsenal fans have already taken to Twitter, voicing their potential hate for Sagna, should he move.

This would leave Arsenal short in the right-back area with only Carl Jenkinson capable of playing that position comfortably. A replacement for Sagna may already be on its way though with long-term target Serge Aurier apparently close to a move to the Emirates, whether he could replace Sagna adequately remains to be seen.
