Is Lionel Messi really headed towards the Premier League?

Reports storming out earlier today suggest that Lionel Messi’s father Jorge Messi has been contacted by officials at Chelsea to sway the Argentine’s decision to join the Premier League club towards a positive note. Reports are also suggesting that Chelsea is ready to meet Messi’s buyout clause of £200m and satisfy his wage demands which will reasonably double the total expense of the transfer deal.

Chelsea supporters expect Messi to don the blue jersey soon as the player is said to be not in good terms with manager Luis Enrique. The Argentine ace and the latter seemed to have a fallout after Barcelona lost to Real Sociedad and Luis’ wish to punish Messi for not showing up for an open door training session worsened their relationship.

The duo arrived in front of the Catalan Board to reach a settlement but it seems that Barcelona might loose both. Reports claim that Enrique will be sacked for his poor show this season and it might be too late to keep Messi in Spain for long.

Chelsea’s rumoured top notch deal will hopefully flourish to success amid the heated war at Camp Nou. According to the Dailystar, Luis Enrique said “I neither confirm nor deny those reports. The things that are part of the team always remain in the changing room.”

However, Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu recently spoke to reporters while insisting that Messi is not for sale.

"Messi has a contract until 2018, he is happy with the club and wants to win more titles,” he was quoted by BBC. "There is nothing to panic about in that regard. Messi is the central figure. The team is built around him."
