Rumour: Chelsea target Sevilla’s £30m-rated Alberto Moreno for summer move

Moreno

Chelsea are lining up a move for highly-rated Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno, according to the Evening Standard.

Moreno has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool monitoring his progress, however, it seems Jose Mourinho’s men are now leading the charge.

Moreno has excelled in La Liga this season and the 21-year-old is in strong demand. Real Madrid are also said to be interested in the youngster, who is valued at around £30 million by Sevilla. However, due to UEFA’s rules over Financial Fair Play, Mourinho will be looking to agree a cheaper deal for the young talent.

Chelsea have fielded Cesar Azpilicueta throughout the season at left-back, despite the Spaniard being a natural right-back. The former Marseille man has excelled however, but Mourinho will be looking to bring in a more accustomed left-sided player as he aims to reshuffle his squad in the summer transfer window in preparation for next season.

Ashley Cole and Ryan Bertrand’s futures are up in the air, with the formers contract set to run out in the summer. Bertrand is currently on-loan at Aston Villa, but is set to be offloaded permanently in the summer, with a number of clubs interested in the players signature.
