Cash rich Manchester City are looking to pull off a massive coup by trying to lure Real Madrid goal keeper Iker Casillas by offering him a bumper 5 year contract.

The experienced shot stopper, who was a mainstay at the Bernebeu for many years, has seen him surrender his spot to summer recruit Diego Lopez. The Spanish international has appeared in 697 matches for the Los Blancos in all competitions, and has been regarded as one of the best goal keepers of modern times.

However, the Spain captain is now looking to quit his childhood team in search of more first team football. The player has failed to manage a single start in the La Liga this season under Carlo Ancelotti.

The 32-year old could be the perfect addition toManuel Pellegrini’s squad, who is still unconvinced by Englishman Joe Hart and Romanian Costel Pantilimon, who have been erratic in goal.

A lucrative 5 year contract could be enough to tempt the keeper into jumping ship to Manchester City, where he has all the chances to win silverware.
