Rumour: Manchester City targetting Real Madrid's Isco

Real Madrid's Isco celebrates with team mate Morata after scoring the winning goal against Real Betis during his Spanish first division soccer match in Madrid

Manchester City have certainly not struggled for goals this season, but are reportedly lining up a summer swoop to add to the plethora of attacking talent by making a fresh move for Real Madrid midfielder Isco. City boss Manuel Pellegrini worked with Isco at Malaga but missed out on the 21 year old last summer when the player decided to move to Madrid rather than the Etihad.

However, Isco has struggled to nail down a place in the Real Madrid side.

Isco League Appearances 2013/14

Isco has featured in 17 league fixtures for Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid side since his £30 million summer move but has completed the full 90 minutes in just six of those games. Ancelotti has struggled to find room for all of his array of attacking talent, and Isco has not started any of the side’s last five La Liga games.

Pellegrini proved a big influence on the 21 year old’s career during the duo’s time in Malaga and is keen for a reunion. Isco has six goals and three assists from his 17 league appearances this season and has also scored two goals in the Champions League.

Isco has two goals in this season’s Champions League, including this goal against Galatasaray

Isco has created 40 chances this season, the second highest total at Real Madrid and an average of one every 30 minutes.
