According to the Daily Mail, in Manchester United’s quest to find an able replacement for outgoing Patrice Evra, the club are said to be tracking Atletico Madrid star Filipe Luis for a possible transfer this January.

Atletico Madrid have been in inspired form this season, losing only one match in the La Liga so far. The 28-year old has been a big part of their success, impressing everytime he takes the field.

The Red Devils have been linked with several left backs like Fabio Coentrao of Real Madrid and Luke Shaw of Southampton, however, are most likely to miss out on them.

Although Atletico Madrid are financially troubled, the club will be desperate to hold on to their star players, atleast until the end of the season. The club are currently joint top in the La Liga, in the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League and recently progressed in the Copa Del Ray.

If David Moyes and Manchester United are to prise the coveted defender away from the Vincente Calderon, they will need to stump up a sizable fee, estimated to be in the region of £18 million.
