Manchester United have been linked with another couple of midfielders in Atletico Madrid’s Raul Garcia and Athletic Bilbao’s Benat Extebarria.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, the Manchester club will open negotiations with both the Spanish sides over the next few weeks and try to bring them to Old Trafford before the end of the mid-season transfer window.
Garcia has been very impressive this season in Atletico Madrid’s midfield , scoring six goals and providing one assist in 14 league appearances while notching up 3 goals and 3 assist in the group stages of the Champions League. Benat, who has been continually linked with United now, has scored one goal and registered three assists in 14 La Liga matches.
David Moyes is believed to have set his sights on signing the two Spanish midfielders in the January transfer window as he looks to rescue United’s stuttering season. The reigning Premier League champions are in 7th place with 34 points, 11 points off of league leaders Arsenal.
