Manchester United have made their intentions clear about their Spanish international playmaker Juan Mata, having rebuffed an enquiry from Italian giants Juventus, according to reports. The Red Devils seem to be in no mood to entertain any offers regarding their midfield maestro who has just begun to settle down into Louis van Gaal’s complex scheme of things.

Mata arrived at Old Trafford in January last year when Ed Woodward and co. agreed to pay Chelsea a then club record fee of £37.1 million, with the Spaniard penning a contract until the summer of 2018.

In spite of having a slow start to the season this time around, Mata seems to be coming around and is beginning to show his exemplary playmaking skills. In 17 appearances so far (15 starts), the Spaniard has notched up 5 goals to go along with 3 assists in the Premier League.

With Mata initially struggling to get into Van Gaal’s schemes, Juventus are said to have sent a delegation to Old Trafford earlier last week to enquire about the playmaker’s availability.

However, having won back the Dutch master’s confidence with his recent showing, the Italian delegation is thought to have met with a firm rejection with United said to have made it clear that Juan Mata will not be made available at any price.
