Less than 24 hours after axing star midfielders Michael Ballack and Joe Cole, Chelsea are on the move. Reportedly, the London club has approached German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich with a lucrative offer for ace play-maker Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Schweinsteiger played a major role in the German champions’ domestic double triumph last season.
The Blues’ management has begun talks with the 25-year-old’s agent and have tabled a 4 million Pounds a year offer for the player. Schweinsteiger who can play both as a central midfielder and a winger is being looked as an ideal replacement for Germany’s injured skipper Ballack at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Joe Cole could be heading to the Emirates! The England international is being targeted by a number of clubs including former club West Ham United. However, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has wasted little time, having spoken to Cole before he boarded the flight to South Africa.
