Mandzukic's presence in the starting XI has coincided with Juventus' best performances so far this season, and it isn't a coincidence,

The three lunged Croat has been brilliant so far this season, and he's an example for all youngsters in terms of professionalism, doing whatever is needed for the team to succeed and running his socks off, leaving everything out on the field in every game he plays.

The soon to be 33-year-old has made nine Serie A starts this season, is allowed some degree of rest after his gruelling World Cup campaign in which he gave it his all for his nation, even scoring in the final.

But the games in which he has had a part so far this season have been some of the best performances from the league leaders.

His inclusion in the lineup gives players like Ronaldo, Dybala, Costa etc. more freedom to get higher up the pitch while he runs into dangerous positions to create and finish off chances for his team.

He's scored five goals and provided two assists so far this season, but his contribution to the team cannot be quantified in numbers alone.

He presses the opposition's defence, tracks back deep to defend, and clears the ball whenever he senses the threat for a counter attack, making him one of the most intelligent players in the division so far this season.
