What's the story?

According to popular Italian Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Serie A Champions Juventus have agreed on a 5-year contract worth €5 million a season with young Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa.

The heart of the matter

The performance of Juventus in this year's Champions League had not been par with the expectations and hence, the squad is going with a few changes to pose a stronger challenge next season. They have already sacked manager Massimiliano Allegri and are in the transfer market for a few vital signings.

Apart from Cristiano Ronaldo, the attackers of Juventus have failed to step up consistently and hence, Juventus is intent on adding depth to this area of the squad. As a part of this, the club has reportedly struck an agreement with a young Serie A winger.

In case you didn't know...

Fiorentina have struggled this season and just missed relegation by a few points. Federico Chiesa made 34 appearances in the Serie A during the term and bagged 3 goals and 6 assists for his team. However, the youngster's conversion rate of 4.5% was not very impressive with a lot more expected from him.

Chiese definitely has a bright future ahead of him and hence, Juventus have offered a €5 million contract to the youngster. Although both the player and the club have agreed on a contract, Juventus is yet to strike a deal with Fiorentina.

What's next?

Although Juventus won the 2018-19 Serie A season, a better performance was expected from the team in the Champions League. The team was knocked by a young Ajax squad and hence, the Italian giants want to improve every area of their squad to put up a strong Champions League challenge next season.

Despite not yet decided on their next manager, the club is already active in the transfer market and the Old Lady is also said to be involved in a move to bring back French starlet Paul Pogba back to the club.
