The Spaniard was quite impressive in the game, although he had to grow into it. In the first half, he made some sloppy passes and fluffed his lines in a one on one situation. He stepped up in the second half with an impressive defensive display, crucially keeping the likes of Sergio Reguilon at bay.

His most telling contribution came in the 64th minute, as his cross found Karim Benzema for the only goal of the game. With that assist, he goes joint top with the highest assists recorded in LaLiga so far.

The Brazillian was in imperious form tonight. He screened the Real Madrid defence with aplomb and broke up several Sevilla counter attacks.

The 27-year-old was also composed in possession, as he calmly recycled Madrid's ball retention with ease despite the Sevilla press. He made several interceptions and recorded the highest number of accurate tackles with 4 completed.
