Sir Alex Ferguson still believes in Bebe

Second half substitute Bebe equalised in stoppage time to earn Manchester United a draw against Ajax Cape Town at the Green Point Stadium on Saturday. The Portuguese attacker volleyed a low cross ball from defender Marnick Vermijl into the back of the net after The Urban Warriors had taken the lead in the 86th minute of the match

Tiago Manuel Dias Correia, or better known as Bebe, arrived at Manchester United from Estrela da Amadora for a reported transfer fee of around £7.4 million at the beginning of the 2010-11 campaign. The Iberian flankman was signed by Turkish outfit Besiktas on a season-long loan the following year but managed to make only four league appearances for The Black Eagles. Sir Alex Ferguson: “We will see how the season progresses for Bebe, but it gives me a headache in terms of number of strikers we have there. That’s not a bad thing, though. Bebe had his loan at Besiktas and then picked up the bad injury which kept him out for most of the season. That is probably his first game for about eight months, so he will be pleased to be back playing and pleased he scored a goal.”
