Arguably one of the signings of the season, Axel Witsel has been a dominant figure at the heart of the Borussia Dortmund midfield. The Belgian proved his critics wrong after doubts emerged about how he would fare in the Bundesliga after a year in China.

The 30-year old provided more than capable defensive cover for the devastating Dortmund attack as Witsel averaged 1.4 tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 0.7 clearances per match.

Witsel even chipped in with 4 goals and an assist, but the most staggering statistics were to do with his passing as the Belgian made more than 2000 passes the whole and had a 94.1% success ratio.
