Pablo Osvaldo has again linked up with Pochettino as he became Southampton’s record signing last night

Southampton have completed the signing of Pablo Osvaldo,27, from Roma last night on a four year deal. The fee is in the region of £15 million pounds, according to a report on Sky Sports, and breaks Southampton’s club record for an incoming transfer.

The Argentina born striker has been capped 12 times by the Italy U-21 team and 9 times by the senior Italian team, scoring 3 goals for the Azzurri.

At Southampton, Osvaldo will be reunited with Mauricio Pochettino, who was manager when the striker played for Spanish side Espanyol.

“Southampton football club is delighted to announce the signing of Italy striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo,” a statement from Saints read.

“Osvaldo today agreed terms on a four-year contract with Saints and moves from Serie A side AS Roma.”

The Saints will officially present Osvaldo as a player later today and the striker is expected to make his debut for the club on Saturday against Sunderland.

Osvaldo’s signing is a continuation of Pochettino’s busy summer. Earlier, he signed Victor Wanyama from Celtic for £12.5 million and Bosnia and Herzegovina international centre-back Daniel Lovren for £8.5 million from Lyon.
