Sportskeeda's take on the EPL transfer rumours of 11th August, 2016

Wenger
Wenger is targeting Mahrez and Mustafi

In our latest section on transfers, we’ve been analyzing the best transfer rumours doing the rounds. Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City have already done most of their business, but London clubs Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham are still expected to be involved in the transfer market.

Today, we talk about the future of Riyad Mahrez, Georges Kevin N’Koudou, and Nemanja Matic. We have done an in-depth analysis on the English Premier League transfer rumours of 11th August.

Riyad Mahrez to Arsenal

Mahrez

Arsenal have placed a bid of £35m after an offer of £30m was rejected for Riyad Mahrez, reports L’Equipe. It is reported Mahrez is very keen on signing for the Gunners, and is ready to push a move.

Experts say: French journalists believe Mahrez could soon sign for Mahrez, and L’Equipe are one of the most reliable media outlets.

Our take: Mahrez has already rejected a contract extension offer from Leicester, but still has another three years left on his contract. Leicester are reluctant to let him go, and it remains to be seen if they can force Mahrez to stay at the club. As suggested, Mahrez is ready to push for a move, but it is still Leicester’s decision to make, and they can keep him if they want to. Arsenal haven’t yet agreed a fee with Leicester, so we’re still some way off.

Chances of it happening: 6/10

Georges Kevin N’Koudou to Tottenham

Tottenham had a fee of €13m agreed for Georges Kevin N’Koudou a couple of weeks ago, but there has been no update since then. According to L’Equipe, Tottenham now want to sign the player on loan with the option to buy.

Experts say: French media don’t really have an update on this, and don’t seem to be too confident about what’s really going on.

Our take: Daniel Levy can be a tough man to negotiate with, and it seems he is trying to get Tottenham the best deal once again. It’s a bit unlikely Marseille would want to accept a loan move, and we should wait for more reports. The player has reportedly already passed his medicals, and is now waiting for both the clubs to quickly sort it out. This could continue for a few more days, and Tottenham might not get their man on a loan deal.

Chances of it happening: 7/10

Nemanja Matic to Juventus

Matic

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus remain interested in signing Nemanja Matic, and the Serbian is also keen on switching clubs. Antonio Conte, however, wants to keep Matic at the club, whilst Juventus are ready to offer Simone Zaza in a direct swap deal.

Experts say: Italian media say Juventus are very keen on signing Matic, but Conte is equally keen on keeping him at Chelsea.

Our take: We’ve said it before, it’s very unlikely Chelsea would want to part ways with Matic. The Serbian is unlikely to draw a huge transfer fee at the moment, and Chelsea would rather keep him at the club. Juventus value the player around €30m, and it’s unlikely Chelsea will consider selling him at that price. Italian media like to link Juventus to Premier League stars, but Matic is not going anywhere if Chelsea don’t want to sell.

Chances of it happening: 4/10
