Real’s title chances suffered a major blow after their 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid. Los’ Blancos’ drew away to Malaga last time out and fell nine behind leaders Barcelona making this game all the more important for them. But Atletico ended up getting the better of their crosstown rivals and have now all but ended their title hopes.

Here are the major stats from the game:

This was the 1st time with Zidane in charge, Real Madrid failed to score in the first half at the Bernabéu in La Liga.

Antoine Griezmann finally broke his scoring drought after five games without a goal for Atletico. His goal also proved to be the deciding one for his team

Zidane now has a poorer record than his predecessor Rafa Benitez after the same number of games. Were Real wrong to sack him?

Real Madrid usually came out on top in matches against their neighbors, that was until Simeone took charge after which its all even steven.
