MILAN, ITALY – SEPTEMBER 30: Yuto Nagatomo of FC Inter Milan and Facundo Roncaglia (R) of ACF Fiorentina compete for the ball during the Serie A match between FC Internazionale Milano and ACF Fiorentina at San Siro Stadium on September 30, 2012 in Milan, Italy.

Milan, Oct 1 – Inter Milan head coach Andrea Stramaccioni praised his side’s new attitude after they beat Fiorentina 2-1 to chalk up their first home win in the Serie A.

He said Sunday that their shaky performances earlier in the season were a blessing in disguise, reports Xinhua.

“Hitting the bottom of the table was important for us because it made us understand that we had to change something and go on to the field with a different attitude,” he said.

“Tonight we exhibited determination and hard work. It was a show of strength and of quality and above all because Fiorentina are such a dangerous side,” he continued.

“Inter earned the victory by limiting the qualities of the opponent who are very good at controlling the ball,” he said.

Stramaccioni reckoned Inter still need to work hard to improve themselves.

“I got a little angry because we left the game open despite having numerous chances. We should’ve killed it off. As a match like this is always full of potential pitfalls,” he said.
