Sturridge: Give him a chance before we flog him!

Reports yesterday surfaced around the media that Daniel Sturridge has told Chelsea that we wants to quit the club and look for a move elsewhere, with reports that Liverpool have opened negotiations with Chelsea over a move as early as January.

With the situation with Fernando Torres here at the moment, you have to wonder how Chelsea can afford to let him leave when at present, he is the only other real solution we have up front?

I for one do not believe that he had demanded £80,000 per week and a stipulation that he only plays down the middle. You can see that all Sturridge wants to do is play football.

It’s just a shame that he has had injury problems around the same time that Fernando Torres has suffered another goal scoring drought!

Sturridge deserves a start now ahead of Torres who has played almost every game. Whether or not that is going to happen is another thing but surely having the different option up front in Sturridge gives Chelsea a different dimension up top, with his pace in addition to the natural ability he has.

The only reason Chelsea can afford to let Sturridge go is if they have already agreed a deal with someone to come in as a replacement as early as January.

I believe Chelsea need to stick by Sturridge and give him a run of games to prove himself as let’s be honest, we have nothing else to lose at the moment with Torres up there, do we?

Carefree & KTBFFH!
