Sturridge: Time to show us what you can do!

With Fernando Torres suspended for tomorrow night’s clash against Manchester United in the Capital One Cup, Daniel Sturridge should finally get his wish and start a game up front and through the middle for Robero Di Matteo.

Sturridge has made it clear ever since he has been at Chelsea that he prefers to play as the central striker and believes that this is his best position. It’s time to put up or shut up tomorrow, it really is.

Daniel Sturridge has everything in his locker to become a major success in the Premier League and for England and I believe that 100%.

He has pace to burn, has a natural instinct to find the back of the net, is skillful and has already proven that he can score goals at the top level.

The problem is, he relies on confidence from his manager. Without it, he isn’t the same player and it will be interesting to see just how he reacts to being given an expected start tomorrow night.

As we all know, Fernando Torres IS our new number one since the departure of Didier Drogba and all we keep hearing about from the press and the media is the fact that Chelsea “have no backup” in that position.

People are tipping Chelsea to pay £46m in the January transfer window to bring Falcao to Stamford Bridge but we have someone here that given a run of games WILL score you plenty of goals and that’s Sturridge.

The problem is, it’s all well and good talking about it, he needs to get out there tomorrow night and take the chance he is due to be given and show RDM and the Chelsea fans that he can be the real deal and he can give RDM something to think about in that position for the remainder of the season.

It’s time to show us what you can do through the middle, Danny Sturridge!
