Suarez criticized at PFA award ceremony

Luis Suarez won accolades for being named in the PFA Team of the Year and also the runner-up to Tottenham’s Gareth Bale. Unfortunately, every time his name was called out, it was accompanied with an unfriendly reaction from the crowd. The crowd who witnessed the ceremony were filled with professionals and guests.

He was the only Liverpool player to be nominated in that list.

ESPN correspondent Miguel Delaney tweeted from the hotel: “A few loud boos ripple around room when Suarez’s name read out for best XI. Only one booed.”

The PFA was criticised for still having Suarez’s name in the ‘Player of the Year’ list even after he bit Branislav Ivanovic during the game against Chelsea at Anfield, which resulted in him being banned for 10 matches. After so many controversies, Suarez’s 23 goals gained some him some respect from his team-mates and is no more looked down upon.
