Suarez has already scored 43 goals for Barcelona this season but the star striker admitted that he had doubts about his own abilities and whether he would be good enough for Barcelona. Suarez joined Barcelona from Liverpool in 2014 and he has been integral to Barcelona’s success in the last two years.
The move to Catalunya has been a fulfilling one both in terms of his sporting and personal life.
"I like Barcelona. I've always had a special appreciation for it since things started with [his partner] Sofia. She came to live here and I came to see her. It was the city that separated us in that moment and that has since united us
“When it's cold you can go to snowy places and when it's hot you can go to some incredible places. The people are really respectful and for that reason we would love to stay here," the Uruguayan said in an interview with Helden TV.
Suarez also opened up about how he felt during the ban he received for biting Chiellini in the World Cup saying that his children were key to keeping him happy.
"It's positive because they see that their dad is not perfect. Although it was damaging to think that my kids knew the reason behind my ban, but I apologised," he said.
After what happened with Chiellini, Suarez went to see a psychologist, but not just to talk about that subject, but other things, too. "These days, I am aware that I have to think more, be more intelligent, not keep things to myself. Going to the psychologist has helped me a lot, not just in football, but in my life in general,"
Suarez says he didn’t think he was good enough for Barcelona
Suarez is now one of the undisputed stars of the Barcelona side but he was not too sure about his own abilities in the beginning.
"I dreamed of playing for Barcelona, but even I didn't believe I was good enough to be Barca's number nine.
"You always dream of playing with the best and now I'm doing just that, with [Lionel] Messi, Neymar, [Andres] Iniesta, [Sergio] Busquets and so on."
The Uruguayan also spoke about the close relationship he shares with his fellow forwards Neymar and Messi.
"We don't care about who scores the goals, only about the team doing well," he added. "We're all clear about our target, which is to win together. We're all happy - there is no jealousy between myself, Neymar and Messi.
"Everything comes naturally between us."
