The Footy Mumble: Vilanova's battle continues, Ferdinand's 'Bond' dream!

Rio Ferdinand wants to be Bond!

Rio Ferdinand’s Manchester United career continues to be in doubt, and it seems his future might already be decided, with the defender indicating he would like to become the first black Bond!

The United legend seems to be eyeing Hollywood already, claiming in an interview with FourFourTwo, “I’d go for an emotional part, something off the wall.”

He went on to add, “I’ve got too much for a henchman role. I’d need for it to be, I dunno, like Luther. Or if they’re looking for a new James Bond, I wouldn’t say that’s out of my comfort zone at all.”

Vilanova’s cancer fight not over

Tito Vilanova might have returned to the Barcelona bench after the battle with cancer, but it seems his health problems are far from over.

The Barcelona coach has claimed that the fight to survive is not over yet, and he may yet face health problems in the future.

“This is not over yet and there will be days that I can take training, and others when I can’t, but I want the media to realise that this illness is mine and it is private even if I am a public figure,” said Vilanova.

He went on to thank everyone for their wishes, saying, “I would like to thank everyone for their support. This club has had a lot of knocks in the last couple of years but I always want to take the positive approach. What has happened to me could have happened to anyone.”

Trouble stalks Suarez?

Liverpool continues to act as a screen for controversial striker, Luis Suarez, claiming that ‘trouble stalks him’.

The Uruguayan scored a controversial winner against Mansfield in the F.A. Cup yesterday, with a blatant handball not given by the linesman. And now Rodgers claims it wasn’t Suarez’s job to be fair!

“It’s not his job to do that,” he said. “I’m not sure what people want him to do in that situation. It’s not actually up to him. That’s the job of the officials.”

Someone please remind him it’s the job of the players to be fair! Not that Suarez cares, of course.

Daily Transfer Updates

In today’s transfer news, Chelsea seem to have moved quickly to add to their midfield, with Metalist Kharkiv midfielder Taison reportedly on the verge of joining the club.

The player already visited West London once reportedly, and seems confident of making a move soon.

In more audacious rumours, Sergio Busquets has been linked with a stunning move to arch-rivals Real Madrid!

Rumour-mongers claim Busquets to be the marquee signing Real president Fiorentino Perez has promised for the summer, but even then, the story seems to be stretching the limits of possibility.

Added to the fact that Real and Barcelona are the biggest rivals, is the reported €150 million price tag Busquets has on his head.

And that would scare away even one of the richest clubs in the world.
