The Premier League Relegated XI

West
West Brom and Swansea were both relegated this season along with Stoke

Def - Alfie Mawson (Swansea)

Alfie
Alfie Mawson of Swansea

Alfie Mawson has kicked on from his promising debut season and was a colossus at the back for the Swans, snuffing out any threats.

His performances made england boss Gareth Southgate sit-up and notice and he would have made the World cup squad if not for an unfortunate knee injury, that's how impressive he has been this season.

He is surely too good for the Championship and with interest from Premier League sides already being reported, it is inevitable he leaves the Swans this summer

Stats

Mawson has had the best season among the defenders of three relegated sides if you look at the stats. He made the most passes and had the highest pass completion rate with 82% of his passes reaching his intended target among the three sides.

He also won 62% of his aerial duels which was also the best among his peers showing his aerial strength and received just 2 yellow cards, showing his ability to time the tackles to perfection.
