2. Bruce Grobbelaar vs Steve McManaman
1993 Merseyside derby
Liverpool goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar was rather vocal about McManaman’s awful clearance.
This was obviously not enough to teach young Steve a lesson as he gave it back to the furious shot-stopper. Grobbelaar decided to settle the matter with a punch to the throat before sending McManaman on his way.
The Zimbabwean was certainly in the mood for a fight and so was McManaman.
