Fernando Torres was one of the most deadly strikers in the Premier League when Chelsea splashed a club-record £50 million on him in January of 2011. The forward scored 85 goals in 102 appearances for Liverpool before moving to Stamford Bridge and being a Premier League proven player, there were no doubts that he going to settle in quickly at his new club. However, the forward failed to hit the ground running at his new club and had to wait 3 months before scoring his first goal for the Blues.

The Spaniard did show glimpses of his former self on a number of occasions, however, he failed to showcase the same hunger and desire in front of goal that he had at his former club. Torres managed just 20 goals in 110 appearances for Chelsea before moving to AC Milan on loan in 2014. Torres failed to live up the expectation and price-tag, and till date, he is regarded as one of the worst signings in Premier League history.
