In at number one is a player who everybody would have guessed before reading the article. The French sensation, Kylian Mbappe, has been making Ligue 1 look like his playground.
The guy has been ruling both domestically and in Europe this season. The 20-year-old is ahead of both Edinson Cavani and Neymar in terms of goal contributions, which speaks volumes in itself.
Mbappe is absolutely rapid, and his pace can give defenders nightmares. Combine that pace with his skill and finishing abilities, and we have a world class player at just the age of 20. One can only imagine what he will go on do, considering he still has 5-6 years until he reaches an age where every player is at his peak.
In terms of stats in Ligue 1 this season, Mbappe has scored 19 goals and made a further 8, with a shot accuracy of 74 per cent. He has won 33 per cent of his aerial duels and averages a goal every 74 minutes.
