Top 5 centre forwards in Europe at the moment (2018-19)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - Joint-top scorer of PL (10 goals)
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - Joint-top scorer of PL (10 goals)

All the hard work and efforts players put on the pitch is down to one aim - scoring a goal. If your striker cannot get you the lead, you lose. Striking is probably one of the most vital and recognised positions in the history of football.

There have been plenty of world-class strikers all across the globe, but only a few have made it to the very top. Currently, the likes of Suarez and Lewandowski are known to be the best strikers in the world, but the list keeps on fluctuating, with new names coming up pretty frequently.

Consistency plays a key part in this position - if one plays well consistently, he gets recognised to the utmost level, but when he doesn't, he is hated and booed by the fans till the time he doesn't get his form back.

Well, this season, the fight for the 'best striker in the world' has been tough and pretty interesting, considering the hot form players have been in, with new names coming up as well. Without further ado, lets get straight into it.

#5 Christian Stuani (Girona)

He has been one of the most consistent strikers in the Spanish league this season
He has been one of the most consistent strikers in the Spanish league this season

The 32-year-old striker, Christian Stuani, has been on some incredible form this season, scoring 11 goals in just 13 LaLiga appearances. He has been one of the most consistent strikers in the Spanish league this season, scoring a goal after every 93 minutes.

Stuani was an Espanyol player back in 2014, where he bagged 12 goals in 37 appearances before moving to Middlesbrough. He spent a year playing in the Premier League, bagging just 4 goals in 23 appearances, and therefore, he was sent to Girona last season.

Christian took time to settle in Girona, scoring 21 goals in 33 matches last term, which is still a great stat. At the age of 31, it seems like he is finally able to unleash his true self.

The Uruguayan international is just 1 goal behind Leo Messi this season, and we just cannot sleep on him.

#4 Harry Kane (Tottenham)

He is reliable, lethal, strong, and at times, magical
He is reliable, lethal, strong, and at times, magical

The 'one season wonder' Harry Kane has once again displayed world-class performances for Tottenham Hotspur, and is certainly in the race for the Golden Boot. Kane has bagged 9 goals and 2 assists (151 min per goal) this season so far, one behind Aubameyang and Salah who sit first in the list of the Premier League top scorers with 10 goals to their name.

However, Kane does not have plans just yet to leave them both fighting for the PL Golden Boot alone. The Englishman is also on an incredible Champions League form, scoring 4 goals in just 6 appearances.

Harry Kane has been a part of the Tottenham side since the 2014-15 season, and since then, he has been a consistent performer for the North Londoners. He has scored 20+ goals in every season. He is reliable, lethal, strong, and at times, magical. Being an Arsenal fan, it's infuriating to see him perform at such a world-class level.

#3 Luis Suarez (FC Barcelona)

My all-time favourite!
My all-time favourite!

Words fail to describe Luis Suarez's abilities. A blessing for Barcelona and Leo Messi, Suarez is probably one of the best strikers, if not the best, all across the globe. The only player to have won the Golden Boot in the era of Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez defines world-class.

The Uruguayan forward’s tenacity, dribbling skills, finishing, and positioning make him one of the most complete players in the modern game. He was a winner of multiple titles during his spells at Ajax, Liverpool, and Barcelona.

Well this term, Luis Suarez has bagged 10 goals (118 min per goal) and 4 assists this season. His partner-in-crime, Leo, has nearly the exact same numbers, and they look to rule Europe this season, as their performances in the UCL have been disappointing lately.

Suarez's performances last season were a bit upsetting, as Leo covered up for him most of the time. However, Luis looks much better and confident this season, and his hat-trick against Real Madrid (without Leo Messi in the team) is enough to back my argument.

#2 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal)

Aubameyang has been a fan favourite since his very first game
Aubameyang has been a fan favourite since his very first game

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is setting the Premier League on fire with his enthralling performances week in and week out for the North Londoners. Arsenal paid a fee of £58 million, breaking their transfer record, and it has certainly paid off.

Considering his performances, and the price Arsenal paid for him, it seems to be a huge bargain I must say. After moving to London in January last term, Aubameyang finished the half-season with 10 goals, 1 less than Hazard who played nearly 20 games more than him.

Aubameyang has been a fan favourite since his very first game, as he scored his first goal with a delightful chip over Everton's goalkeeper Pickford. Since then, he has gone on to score 20 goals for Arsenal in the Premier League, in just 26 appearances, with 7 assists to his name as well.

Currently, he is the joint-top scorer alongside Salah, and the race for the Golden Boot is on, and on fire!

#1 Paco Alcacer (Borussia Dortmund)

He tops this list because his efficiency and consistency
He tops this list because his efficiency and consistency

This is a man who was benched for more than half the season at Barcelona in 2017-18, but despite that, his confidence never fell. He moved to Dortmund in the summer of 2018, and it's December now. Paco Alcacer has scored 10 goals in 9 matches for Dortmund, despite him not starting a game yet, making his stats even more impressive - a goal in every 36 minutes.

Paco's tenure at Barcelona was short, as the Spanish man scored just 10 goals in his two seasons at Barcelona. He struggled for game time, and with the likes of Suarez and Messi in the line-up, it was obvious that Paco would find it difficult to break into the starting eleven.

However, this term, he has been on some god-level form, scoring goals as soon as he is subbed in. Fans are stunned, and his form is sending shock waves across the world, because there is a new champ in town.

He tops this list because his efficiency and consistency has been second to none. Many might argue that he probably faces tired legs, as he comes in after halftime, and that is the reason why he scores. However if that is the case, he isn't the only player coming off the bench, therefore others should be on double figures as well.

Super-sub, indeed.
