Top 5 deadline day transfers that could happen
The January transfer window is the less exciting of the two windows but if the latest rumors are anything to go by it looks like quite a few high profile players will be switching clubs this winter. The most exciting phase of the transfer window is the deadline day. Here is a list of 5 players who could find themselves with a new club on the last day of January:
5. Luke Shaw to Chelsea
A host of clubs including Manchester United and Tottenham are interested in signing the teenage defender but Chelsea seems to be ahead of them all after they reportedly submitted a bid of around £30 million to Southampton. The 18-year-old has been one of the Premier League’s most promising players over the last year and has been praised for his attacking skills as a left-back. Shaw, who was named by The Guardian as one of Europe’s most promising young footballers, attracted interest from Manchester United but signed a new contract with Southampton committing his future to the Saints for the next five years. The England Under-21 international will soon become too good to play for Southampton and will eventually move on to one of the big clubs in the future. Chelsea seem to have the edge over their rivals as Shaw stated that he is a Chelsea fan and had originally wanted to play for the Blues so it would be no surprise if the defender landed at Stamford Bridge over the coming weeks.
