Barcelona made club history during the course of the 2008/2009 campaign when they became the first Spanish club to win all three trophies they contested for that season, and took it a step further by becoming the first side in history to win a sextuple.
The campaign started plainly enough, with Ronaldinho's departure portending a season of struggle, while Pep Guardiola was far from the revered manager he is right now and was just taking his first teething steps in management.
The fact that the club were winless in the first two matches of the season - losing on the opening day away to the newly promoted Numancia and drawing with Racing Santander at home on matchday 2 laid credence to this claim.
However, the Blaugrana under Guardiola's innovative style of play turned things around, thumping all before them to write their names in history, and the 2008/2009 Barcelona squad is widely considered by many to be the greatest club team in history.
Following the passage of time, key members of the squad still remain at Nou Camp, while others have moved on to other things.
In this piece, we shall be highlighting four key members of that treble-winning squad who are still plying their trade at other clubs.
#4 Bojan Krkic (Montreal Impact)
Bojan Krkic emerged as a highly rated youngster in La Masia, breaking numerous goalscoring records for fun in Barcelona's academy, and was largely believed to be the future of Barcelona's attack.
He made his debut for the senior team in September 2007, aged 17 years and 19 days, breaking Lionel Messi's record as the second youngest Barcelona player to feature in a LaLiga match, and also became the youngest to play a Champions League fixture.
He broke Raul's record for the most goals scored by a Spanish teenager in a debut season, and for his fast breakout, he drew comparisons to the Real Madrid icon.
His second season with the Catalans saw him take on more responsibility, and he ultimately made 42 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 10 goals as the side won a treble.
The presence of some legendary players in the Barcelona attack meant that the odds were always stacked against him making the grade at Barcelona, and the 29-year-old has been something of a journeyman since and is regularly named among players who failed to fulfil their early promise.
#3 Yaya Toure (Qingdao Huanghai)
For three seasons, Yaya Toure held sway as the lynchpin of the Barcelona midfield and distinguished himself with his displays following his arrival from AS Monaco in the summer of 2007.
The 36-year-old is a behemoth of a human, but in contradiction to his bulky frame and stature, Toure possessed technique and guile on the ball that was not normally associated with players of his build.
During the course of Barcelona's treble-winning campaign under Guardiola, Toure saw his relevance reduced, as the manager preferred giving a chance to then-newbie Sergio Busquets, but the former Ivory Coast international still starred, making 43 appearances in all competitions.
Toure is an extremely versatile player and showed his dexterity by starting the final of the Champions League which completed the treble in central defence against Manchester United.
He departed Barcelona for Manchester City that summer and he went on to achieve immortality in England, with the Cityzens, playing a major role in all the successes enjoyed by the Mancunians' in recent years, and indeed it was his goal in the final of the 2010 FA Cup that gave the club her first title in almost half a century.
Guardiola's arrival at The Etihad once again reduced Toure's role to a bit part one, and he departed the club in 2018, first going to Olympiacos where his contract was terminated soon after and despite initial reports of his retirement from the game, Toure came out to refute those claims and is currently playing his trade with Chinese League One side Qingdao Huanghai.
#2 Dani Alves (Sao Paolo)
Dani Alves was made the first signing of Pep Guardiola's Barcelona era when he completed the move from Andalusia for the sum of £30m, and for the next seven seasons, the Brazilian international played his way into Barcelona folklore as the greatest right-back to ever represent the club.
A constant feature of Barcelona's game during their unprecedented era of dominance was Alves' constant bombarding runs forward, and his pin-point crossing offered an alternative to Barcelona's possession play, while his wonderful on-field relationship with Lionel Messi is exemplified by the fact that for many years, he was the number one assist provider to the Argentine great.
With 41 major trophies won, Alves is the most decorated player in footballing history, and a majority of his successes came during his seven-year trophy-laden spell at Nou Camp.
During the course of the 2008/2009 treble-winning campaign, the 36-year-old made 54 appearances in all competitions, which was the joint-most of any player that season (alongside Xavi), but Alves started 52 of those to Xavi's 49.
He left Barcelona in the summer of 2015 after helping the club to yet another treble and went on to enjoy further success with PSG and Juventus as well as his national team, before ending his European sojourn with a return to Sao Paulo last summer.

In 2008/2009, the former Spanish international made 43 appearances in all competitions as injuries hampered his campaign, but the 35-year-old still shone through as one of the most important players of the squad.
With 32 trophies won in the colours of Barcelona, Iniesta is the second most decorated player in the club's history, and departed Nou Camp for Japanese side Vissel Kobe in 2018, with his final game at Camp Nou shutting down the city of Barcelona as the fans paid a fitting send forth to one of the greatest to ever don the famous colours of the club.
