There are a number of extremely talented players in the Premier League today, including unbelievable strikers who are consistently performing at the top of their game.
Players like Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Bournemouth’s Jermain Defoe have proved their worth time and time again with their goal scoring abilities.
A good striker is truly worth their weight in gold since they are so rare in the game. It seems that some players have a natural talent and instinct when it comes to netting goals.

The aim of every goal scorer is usually to score the most goals in a single season – besides, of course, helping their team win at all costs. With that in mind, there have been a number of players in the Premier League specifically who have gone on to score hundreds of goals in their career.
Let us look at the top five Premier League goal scorers of all time.
#5 Thierry Henry
The French striker made his mark on the beautiful game in the early 2000s by scoring 175 goals during his time playing for Arsenal, scoring at a rate of 0.68 goals per match.
Henry won the Golden Boot a staggering four times; in the 2001-02, 2003-04, 2004-05, and 2005-06 seasons.
#4 Frank Lampard
The English international midfielder had a wonderful career playing for Chelsea – scoring an impressive 177 goals from his position in the middle of the park. Lampard played for West Ham United, Chelsea and a brief spell at Manchester City, yet his career truly came alive during his time at Chelsea.
Lampard additionally has the third-highest number of appearances in the Premier League with 609 to his name.
#3 Andrew Cole
The English striker’s career spanned close to two decades – playing for Newcastle United, Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Fulham, Manchester City, Portsmouth and Sunderland – scoring 187 goals in the process.
Cole won the Golden Boot in the 1993-94 season and won the Premier League title five times during his playing career.
#2 Wayne Rooney
The English striker has become a household name, having sandwiched his career at Manchester United between two spells at Everton. Rooney scored 208 goals at a rate of 0.42 goals per match.
The number 10 picked up the Player of the Season award in the 2009-10 season and also won Premier League honours five times.
#1 Alan Shearer
Last but certainly not least on the list is Newcastle legend Alan Shearer who played first for Blackburn Rovers and then for Newcastle United for a career spanning just over a decade. No one has yet even come close to the English strikers 260 goals at a rate of 0.59 goals per match.
Although Shearer only won the Premier League title once, he claimed the Golden Boot three consecutive times in the 1994-95, 1995-96 and 1996-97 seasons.
