On Matchday 9 of the 2019-20 season, Lewandowski scored in a 2-1 home win over newly promoted Union Berlin to become the first player to score in each of the first nine games of a Bundesliga season.
Lewandowski would extend his scoring record to 11 before Dusseldorf became the first Bundesliga team in 2019-20 to not concede against the prolific marksman.

The prolific marksman overtook former coach Jupp Heynckes' tally of 220 Bundesliga goals to take the outright third spot in the all-time scoring list in German top-flight history.
Next in Lewandowski's sight is Klaus Fischer's mark of 268 Bundesliga goals, which is the most in the history of the competition behind top-scorer Gerd Muller's tally of 365 goals.
