One of only seven players to have won the Bundesliga both as player and coach, Jupp Heynckes scored 220 goals in his Bundesliga career. His most prolific stint was at Borussia Monchengladbach, where he scored 185 goals and won four Bundesliga titles.

Another stint at Hannover produced 25 goals.

Heynckes returned as a coach to guide Bayern Munich to two Bundesliga triumphs.

Klaus Fischer, famous for his bicycle kicks in the 70s and the 80s, scored 268 goals in 19 Bundesliga seasons from 1968-69 to 1987-88. The tally comprises 28 goals for 1860 Munich, 182 goals for Schalke (club record), 31 goals for FC Koln and 27 goals for VfL Bochum.

The German is the only player among the Bundesliga's top five scorers never to have won a Bundesliga title.

Fischer scored the most goals in the 1975-76 Bundesliga season, for Schalke.
