Riyad Mahrez was Manchester City’s first signing during the summer transfer window. The Algerian could have joined earlier but for failed talks with Leicester City.

The Algerian was instrumental in helping Leicester City to win the Premier League title in 2015-2016. At Manchester City, however, the Algerian will have to overcome tough competition from the likes of Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva etc to establish himself in City’s starting XI. Pep Guardiola and City management would be hoping that he finds his form immediately and repay the faith they have shown in him.
