Top 5 summer signings in the Premier League so far.

Bryan

With over 800 million Euros spent on over 60 players, the Premier League has has recorded the most money ever spent on players for the first time across Europe. The Premier League is starting to attract more and more world class players every year. With the likes of Di maria, Alexis Sanchez, Bojan, Cambiasso and Diego Costa coming into the Premier League this year, it is only making the league more competitive than it already is.This shows that the league is growing in the right direction and with so many stars coming in its only going to make the league bigger and better. A lot of players that have come in have had a wonderful season so far and have helped their club reach where they are right now. Here is a list of the top 5 summer signings in the Premier League so far:

#5 Diafra Sakho

Last season West Ham United barely managed to stay in the Premier League and they also had a hard time in front of goal as they had no defined goalscorer last season with Andy Carroll injured the whole season. They were so desperate to get a striker, they signed their former player Carlton Cole.

But it looks like their worst days are behind them this season with West Ham sitting 4th in the league table right now. They have Diafra Sakho to thank for that. The Senegalese has been in outstanding form ever since he joined The Hammers. He has scored 7 goals and gave 2 assists in 11 games.

The Hammers have just lost one match when he has played so his presence clearly has had a positive impact on the whole team.

West Ham are in contention for a Champions League place this season and with Sakho in such fine form The Hammers are only going to get better.

#4 Graziano Pelle

Last summer saw Southampton lose all of their major stars to big clubs after a wonderful return to the Premier League. To top it off they also lost their manager and they had to rebuild their squad from scratch. They got around 100 million Euros for all the players they sold. Personaly I feel Southampton did the best business in transfers last summer considering the situation they were in.

They used the money they got in very wisely. One of their major buys was Graziano Pelle. The Italian has been in fine scoring form this season and no less was required from him after they lost two of their main goal scores in Lambert and Lallana over the summer.

The Italian has scored 8 goals this season and has given 3 assists so far this season and if it was not for him Southampton would not be 5th in the league right now.

#3 Alexis Sanchez

After last season’s FA Cup success Arsenal were expected to build on that and move a step further this season. They started off well by getting in new players way before the season started and they had a lot of time to prepare for the season. But once the season started you could see the team struggling to get goals and like every season they had defensive issues.

Despite all that one player that stood out was was Alexis Sanchez. Every game he gives it his all and is the only player from the team that covers the whole pitch. He not only scores goals but also runs back to help out in defending.

He is the only Arsenal player who works so much on the pitch. With 14 goals and 6 assists, Sanchez currently has the most goals and assists for Arsenal. Despite a poor start to the season Arsenal still have a chance to revive their season and they are doing so and with Sanchez in exceptional form its bound to happen.

#2 Diego Costa

Since Drogba left Chelsea they were never able to find a good replacement for him, Torres proved to be a waste of time and money. After Diego Costa helped Atletico Madrid defeat Chelsea in last years Champions League semifinals, Mourinho quickly realised that he is what Chelsea require. A month later he joined The Blues.

Since then he has been in outstanding form scoring 12 goals in 19 appearances. After his horrible performance for Spain in the World Cup everyone expected him to struggle in England and expected him to take a long time to adjust to the playing style of Chelsea and the Premier League. But he proved his haters wrong and has clearly justified his 32 million Euros price tag.

#1 Cesc Fabregas

Last June, just before the start of the World Cup, Fabregas shocked the world by signing for Chelsea. Arsenal had the option of buying him but they refused and its clearly affecting them right now. After Frank Lampard’s departure, Chelsea needed another player who could control the game from the center of the field, a leader, and Chelsea hit the jackpot by buying Fabregas.

The Spaniard has proved to be the best signing of the summer so far in the Premier League. With 16 assists and 4 goals in all competitions for Chelsea, he tops the assists chart for Chelsea and the Premier League and has shown why he is the best midfielder in the world. With his pin point passing and excellent vision Chelsea have found the perfect replacement for Lampard and if he continues in this form Chelsea could go on and win every trophie this season.
