Mohamed Salah left Chelsea in 2014 after an extremely underwhelming stint and nobody expected him to return to the Premier League three years later and tear it up. But that's exactly what the Egyptian international did.

Ahead of Leeds United's return to the Premier League, critics were too keen to dismiss Patrick Bamford as a striker who wouldn't cut it at the top level. The lanky Englishman had joined Leeds United from Middlesbrough for £7 million in 2018.
He has since gone on to become a fan-favorite at Elland Road. Bamford scored plenty of important goals as Leeds United gained promotion to the Premier League after the 2019-20 season.
The 28 year old has won over many with his work ethic and efficiency. He has scored 19 goals in 44 appearances in the Premier League since the start of the 2020-21 season. Those are pretty good numbers, especially for a striker who wasn't given much of a chance among the elite.

By now we're all familiar with the rags-to-riches story of Jamie Vardy. The Englishman played non-league football until the end of the 2012-13 season. But his goals earned him a £1.1 million move to then Championship side Leicester City.
The belligerent striker led the Foxes to the Premier League in the 2014-15 season. They won the Premier League title in the very next campaign, with Vardy scoring a whopping 24 goals. Leicester City beat 5000-1 odds to win the English top-flight title and Vardy was their main man.
