As it stands after 14 matches played, Manchester United trail Manchester City by 8 points at the top of the Premier League. United are 3 points ahead of Chelsea who sit third. Arsenal are fourth on the table-- a point behind Chelsea and two ahead of Liverpool, who are fifth.

High-fliers Burnley are in sixth place, a point off the Reds and are the surprise package of the season thus far and are a point ahead of Spurs who sit seventh.

Given their respective starts to the season, the big six and Burnley are in a position in the league, although early in the season, to be considered as probable title contenders. In order to bolster their squad without spending any money, the managers have an option to recall players out on-loan.

Here we take a look at a player in each of the big six clubs that could be recalled by their parent club.

#6 Tottenham Hotspur- Josh Onomah

Tottenham Hotspur v Reading - Premier League 2
Onomah in a game for Tottenham Hotspur's reserves

Spurs have had an average start to the PL campaign as they have struggled to maintain a run of victories at home or away. Given a few injuries and a new stadium to get used to, Pochettino has to find an answer quickly to stay close to the pack and the answer to their problems could be the addition of a young creative force in midfield.

English and Spurs player Josh Onomah, currently on loan to Aston Villa is enjoying a fruitful loan spell at the Championship club. An impact player, with rapid pace and great skill, Onomah could be the player to bring back the creative flow and aggression that fans were so used too with Spurs, as they produced strong gritty performances week in week out for the last two seasons.

The return of Lamela comes at a great time for Pochettino who is under pressure and the addition of Onomah back into the fold could put pressure on the players for places in the starting eleven as the Spurs has to gain a lot of ground in the league.

#5 Liverpool- Sheyi Ojo

Liverpool v Stoke City - Premier League
Ojo in action for Liverpool

20-year-old Liverpool and England midfielder Sheyi Ojo, currently on loan at Fulham could be an interesting player for Klopp to recall and utilise as an offensive wing back on either side. With Clyne injured and not too many defensive covers in the wing back position, the pacey midfielder could be used in a wingback role and might prove to be an effective option.

A strong attacking minded player, Oyo impressed in the few chances he got at Liverpool and was sent to Fulham to establish himself as a seasoned player. With more game time and experience under his belt, Oyo is swiftly developing into a top player who could be a threat for seasons to come.

The England youngster is learning his trade and could benefit from being thrown into the deep end of the Premier League. At only 20-years-old, the player is one for the future and requires careful attention and there is no better manager to be under than the German Jurgen Klopp.

#4 Arsenal- Joel Campbell

Arsenal v Sunderland - Premier League
Campbell playing for Arsenal

On-loan Costa Rican winger and attacking player, Joel Campbell signed with Arsenal in 2011 as a young 19-year-old and is currently on his sixth loan spell from his parent club. Campbell, a winger, remains an interesting option that Wenger could turn to in order to boost his squad.

Currently plying his trade for Real Betis in the La Liga, Campbell the tricky winger, now 25-years-old, is an experienced player across Europe and could help the Gunners if called back to the club. Arsenal has a lot of attacking options although players like Walcott and Welbeck have struggled to make an impact for the club.

Campbell could be an interesting option to give the team some width in games. The Costa Rican has a good work rate and plays an interesting game that could cause PL defences a few problems with his creativity. Strikers for the club namely, Giroud, Lacazette and Sanchez who are deployed up front by Wenger, could all benefit from Campbell playing on the wing.

#3 Chelsea- Tammy Abraham

Chelsea v Blackburn Rovers: FA Youth Cup Semi-Final Second Leg
Abraham in action for Chelsea

The young England striker, Tammy Abraham has impressed so far this campaign during his loan spell with the Welsh club Swansea. With great performances and a couple of goals to his name, the youngster is knocking on the door at Stamford Bridge eager to return and perform for his parent club.

A tricky, pacey forward with great finishing ability, Abraham is a tall player who could prove to be a threat to the best defences in the league. As Chelsea patiently wait for the player to develop his ability and gain experience, the English striker is desperate to rise through the ranks and score goals.

Sitting at third on the table, parent club Chelsea has struggled to find a variety of players who can find the back of the net this season. Tammy Abraham could be a solution to fix to the goal scoring problem the West Londoners are facing and help ease some of the pressure of number 9 Alvaro Morata.

#2 Manchester United- Andreas Pereira

Manchester United FC v VfL Wolfsburg - UEFA Champions League
The Brazilian in action Manchester United FC

Belgian-born Brazilian creative midfielder, Andreas Pereira is currently enjoying his second spell on loan at Valencia away from parent club Manchester United. After spending a year on-loan at Granada last season, Pereira knows that the experience and game-time is valuable education at the highest level of the game for the young footballer.

With United eight points off the leaders City, Pereira could add a lot of value to the midfield as another option although his game-time could be limited. With great ability and vision, the young creative central player is one who could light up the PL.

As United struggled after the Paul Pogba picked up an injury, Pereira could have become the creative force in midfield that solidified the squad and helped the United forward line to be more incisive with defence-splitting passes.

The Brazilian player has expressed his desire for a move away from the club if he doesn't get playing time under Mourinho. Hence, it might be a good plan to show interest in the player, on behalf of the manager, if he was to lure Pereira back from Valencia this January. It would serve well in the future and could get the player to stay at the club on a long-term basis and develop his ability.

#1 Manchester City- Aleix Garcia

Swansea City v Manchester City - EFL Cup Third Round
Garcia celebrates after scoring a goal for City

Premier League leaders and title favourites at this point, Manchester City are eight points clear of their nearest rivals and neighbours Man United. In a fortnight, the Manchester derby will capture the attention of the world in what will be an early title decider of sorts for both clubs.

With a number of quality players on loan from the club, such as defender Jason Denayer, midfielders Aleix Garcia and Douglas Luis, the club does have options but look quite settled in every department. However, the young Spanish midfielder Aleix Garcia could be added to the ranks to bolster City's options in the middle of the park.

With a fantastic PL start, if City continues to rack up victories, stay clear of injuries and perform as well as they have, they will go on to lift the league title. The addition of Aleix Garcia could only help benefit the individual development but also increase the competition for places in the squad in that position.
