Tottenham Hotspur v Juventus - UEFA Champions League Round of 16: Second Leg
Giorgio Chiellini (middle) was in excellent form in defence

Gianluigi Buffon - 6.5/10

Buffon made a number of routine saves to keep his side in the tie. He was faultless for the concession of the Spurs goal.

Andrea Barzagli - 6.5/10

The 36-year-old was tested constantly by the intensity and control displayed on the ball by Son, age being the decisive factor on the night. He was unable to provide any width going forward.

He would have been relieved to partner Chiellini in central defence after Benatia was substituted for natural right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner. His goal-line clearance to deny an on-rushing Lamela gives him the redemption points after struggling at right-back.

Giorgio Chiellini - 8/10

Chiellini was a leader at the back against a wave of Spurs attacks. He managed to thwart a hungry Dele Alli into getting a clear shy at goal and deserves immense praise for a last-ditch clearance to prevent a lurking Harry Kane from meeting a fiercely driven low ball across the 6-yard box. He is a contender for the Man of the Match.

Medhi Benatia - 7.5/10

Benatia was impressive at the back, committing himself to numerous last-man challenges to frustrate the likes of Harry Kane.

Alex Sandro - 7/10

Sandro - though assigned a full-back role - played more as a wing-back, starting from advanced positions on the wing and relying on Matuidi to occupy the vacant left-back position.

Though his intentions were positive from the outset -with Juventus were chasing the away goal they needed to have a chance of progressing, but his final passing lacked the cutting edge to unlock a resolute Spurs' defence.

Sami Khedira - 7.5/10

Khedira's work-ethic was absolutely commendable on Wednesday night. He slotted into a defensive role to fill any gaps that his defence may have left open. When they needed bodies up the field, the German made himself available as well, crucially flicking his header from Lichstiner's cross in the path of Higuain to level matters. He transformed defence into attack on multiple instances for Allegri's side.

Miralem Pjanic - 6/10

Pjanic was below average at Wembley. His set-pieces were shocking and he was overly aggressive when going in for a challenge. He was walking a very thin line during the second half.

Blaise Matuidi - 7/10

Matuidi was another one who worked his socks off in the Juventus midfield. He occasionally slotted into a left-back role to allow Alex Sandro to move forward and also made vital tackles to impede Spurs' progress towards the goal.

Paulo Dybala - 7/10

Dybala was mostly a quiet figure until his goal, beating the offside trap to out-pace Tottenham's defenders and calmly put the ball into the back of the net to complete the turnaround. He was dangerous since, using his pace to go head-to-head with opposition defenders while haring towards goal.

Gonzalo Higuain - 7.5/10

For 60 minutes, Higuain was unable to stamp his authority on the game owing to Spurs' dominance and his repeatedly being flagged offside. However, when he got his chance, he made no mistake in meeting Khedira's flick-on to slot the ball past Lloris.

Moments later, he turned provider, sending Dybala through with a slick pass to swing the advantage in the Italian Champions' favour. His height and physical prowess meant that he was able to help his defenders out in the dying stages.

Douglas Costa - 6.5/10

Costa used his twinkle-toed feet to make approaches into the Spurs' box, but could not apply the final ball that would have given Higuain or Dybala the opportunity to test Lloris. He should probably have won a penalty for a challenge on him by Vertonghen.

Substitutes

Kwadwo Asamoah - 7/10

Asamoah came on in place of a tiring Matuidi to bring in some fresh legs. His introduction was soon followed by Juventus' quick-fire double, meaning that his sole job was to stay in the box and defend crosses coming in from a desperate Spurs. He did his job professionally to see the game out.

Stephan Lichtsteiner - 7.5/10

Lichtsteiner's introduction altered the entire context of the tie. Within moments of his coming on, he was seen running up the right flank - something which Barzagli hadn't done the entire game - and forcing Davies to defend crosses. His cross in the build-up to the first goal was perfectly weighted for Khedira to flick on and find Higuain. Allegri deserves praise for making this particular switch at the right time.

Stefano Sturaro - NA

Sturaro was sent on to shut up shop by adding more bodies in the defensive third.
