Flop: Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur)

What's going on with Dier?
What's going on with Dier?

Pretty much like Dele Alli, Eric Dier too has lost his importance to the side and remains a liability, which he proved once again tonight with a poor performance.

He was guilty of conceding the penalty which Chelsea won from, producing a clumsy tackle on Werner inside the area which left the referee with no choice.

All throughout, he lacked composure and looked unsettled by Chelsea's pace, and if that earlier mistake wasn't enough, Dier almost gave away another goal.

He looked to make a backpass to Hugo Lloris but ended up sending the ball to his head instead of his feet, though the French custodian did well to react quickly and avert potential danger.

That was an absolute shocker from him, as Dier later received some choice words from Lloris, and potentially, from Jose Mourinho too, in the dressing room after the full-time whistle.

Flop: Carlos Vinicius (Tottenham Hotspur)

A Premier League debut to forget for the 25-year old, who just couldn't replicate his cup form tonight and was virtually non-existent against Chelsea.

With six goals to his name for the season, all coming in the FA Cup and the Europa League, Vinicius had been impressive for Tottenham Hotspur in his limited role, but tonight, he flattered to deceive.

This was his moment to stake a claim in Mourinho's starting XI but instead, the Brazilian had a stinker, failing to muster even a singe effort on target.

Part of the blame has to go to the manager's cautious approach in the match too, as his ultra-defensive tactics left attackers isolated upfront, including Vinicius, who barely got any service.

It's an opportunity missed.

Hit: Thomas Tuchel (Chelsea)

Just three games into his tenure as the new Chelsea manager and Tuchel is already making it seem like he's been in the job for ages, for the Blues continue to impress no end.

This was the German's toughest test yet since replacing Lampard, and despite the narrow scoreline, he passed it with flying colors, winning his first London derby too.

Chelsea were absolutely dominant from start to finish, keeping possession and moving the ball around quickly, which left Tottenham Hotpsur players chasing shadows.

They managed a total of 18 shots, 11 more than Tottenham Hotpsur, who spent almost the entire match in their own half, leaving the likes of Son Heung-min isolated upfront.

Even though Chelsea needed only a penalty to see off their local rivals, their dominance in the match cannot be ignored, and these are good signs of days that lie ahead for them under Tuchel's tutelage.
