Liverpool Player Ratings

Robertson's sending off summed up Liverpool's sloppy and shambolic defense
Robertson's sending off summed up Liverpool's sloppy and shambolic defense

Alisson - 5/10

The Liverpool custodian made three good saves but, on the other hand, failed to deal with a long cross amid pressure from Kane. He then gifted Spurs their second goal following a terrible blunder. What a mixed night for Alisson.

Trent Alexander-Arnold - 8/10

His trademark runs offered immense width for Liverpool, although Alexander-Arnold's crosses weren't always accurate. Yet the 23-year old bagged an assist for Robertson's goal.

Joel Matip - 6/10

With Alexander-Arnold venturing forward, there were plenty of gaps on Matip's side of the defense and Spurs made a meal of it by repeatedly exploiting them.

Ibrahima Konate - 5/10

Konate was presented with the opportunity to start in the absence of Liverpool talisman Virgil van Dijk and failed to impress, looking shaky and devoid of confidence all evening.

Andrew Robertson - 7.5/10

Robertson's deliveries were fine, one of which even found Jota for Liverpool's first goal of the night, before he doubled his side's advantage. His outing came to a premature end following a red card for a nasty challenge on Emerson.

Naby Keita - 7/10

Keita was to Liverpool what Winks was to Spurs—they key to breaking opposition play with his game-reading abilities and timely interventions. He also made a game-high seven tackles.

Tyler Morton - 6/10

The youngster's league debut couldn't have come in a worse match as Morton struggled to keep up with the pace and intensity of Spurs.

James Milner - 5/10

The Liverpool skipper was also off the pace and then some.

Mohamed Salah - 6/10

Having blazed through the season so far, Salah was uncharacteristically quiet in the game.

Diogo Jota - 7.5/10

His aerial prowess has been well-documented and Jota demonstrated the same once again in the match with a headed goal.

Sadio Mane - 6/10

Mane's work-rate was never in question and he worked incredibly hard once again, but the end-product was lacking.

Substitutes

Roberto Firmino - 6/10

He isn't helping himself with anonymous cameos, especially in a game where Jota also scored.

Kostas Tsimikas - N/A

The Greek youngster went into the books for time-wasting from a throw-in in stoppage-time.

Joe Gomez - N/A

He came on in the second minute of stoppage-time with the match almost done and dusted.
